Eyes Wide Shut

The Missing Children of Gaza
- savethechildren.net

Britain’s wealth gap is growing. It’s malign effects seep into all aspects of life. It’s a national disaster.
- The Guardian

“Eyes Wide Shut” explores two heavily contrasting parts of society, through the medium of 2 fold out books. Each fold out is accompanied by an A6 yellow booklet which is an article that shows the story and the truth of situations. This project aims to highlight commonly heard about world issues through a creative design piece, hopefully reflecting how real of an issue this really is. It creates a visual, interactive version of an article of an important problem.

“The Missing Children of Gaza” shows on one side of the publication a happy school, and happy children around the world, safe and learning. On the flip side of this, shows walls plastered with posters of missing children in Gaza.

“Britain’s wealth gap is growing...” explores the huge gap in society between the ultra rich and poverty in Britain. One side of the fold out shows a huge mansion, with gold plated furniture lacing every corner of the room, contrasting with the opposing side being derelict with plaster peeling off walls and rotting floorboards.
